• Historical. She spent her earlier years on Walsingham Farm west of Pearston It is on the north side of the Graaff-Reinet to Pearston road, north of Cranemere (the Palmer farm made famouse by Eve Palmer's "Plains of Camdeboo" She and her siblings knew Eve Palmer. She later moved to Middlevale Farm near Middleton to the south of Cookhouse.

• Family. She had 2 brothers and 3 sisters. her eldest brother Robert was gassed in WW1 and died about 1922.

• Occupation. She trained as a nurse in Cape Town and was very accomplished in many things, in particular, handicrafts. We only discovered after she died that she did a great deal for the lesser privileged.
