STARBUCK, Gwenyth
![]()
• Biography. : Gwen was the daughter of Salvation Army Officer parents and went into training as a SA officer in 1937. She served in London during WW2 helping in the air raid shelters and then was private secretary to Chief of Staff ay the SA's international Headquarters, Commissioner John J Allan (after whom she named her son Allan). Her husband to be Keith Anderson, was in training in 1946 and after their marriage in 1948, they served as SA Officers in various corps (churches) in North London until they went as missionaries to the then Rhodesias (now Zimbabwe and Zambia). See Events for Keith for details of these appointments. • Death. Dear family and friends My mother has been 'promoted to Glory'. She went into the presence of the Lord peacefully at 21h10 GMT last night (Sunday 10th December), less than three hours ago. Her breathing during the day got shallower and she just stopped. Several years of intense suffering and living in a bewildering world of Alzheimers are now over and she is in the place where there are no more tears, suffering or pain, rejoicing in the Lord who she served so faithfully all her almost 91 years. She was a Salvation Army officer for 70 years. She loved us to the end, and we loved her very much. She was a wonderful, exemplary mother and grandmother to us. Dad will be welcoming her in that 'far better' place where he has been for just seven months, and there she will meet her keen Christian (and Salvationist) parents and grandparents who have preceded her to Heaven. Well done, Mom and Gran, we are proud of your outstanding life achievements and sacrificial service, but even more of your eternal reward. With love from us all Allan, Olwen, Matt & Tami Carol, Randy, Janine, Josh and Samantha • Genealogy. Further data on the Starbuck side can be found on Ancestry UK.com ![]() Gwenyth married Brig.
