• Alt Death, 1900. ³ The Cape Times of 10 July 1900 reported hid death at Chislehurst, Kent (England) the previous day, but there is an anotated note (by Alice) that he died on 7 July 1900.

• Professional Societies, 1900. ³ The Cape Argus on 9 July 1900 cited the career of Dr. Kitching as follows:-
1859 Licenced (as a Medical practitioner)
1855 Member:Royal College of Surgeons (Eng)
1855 Licentiate of the Society of Apothecaries, London
1858 M.B. of the University of London.
He adopted the homeopathic branch of the heaaling art and had a very large circle of patients.

• Death, 1900. ³ Both the Cape Times 10 Jul 1900, and the Cape Argus 9 Jul 1900 report the cause of his sudden death as due to heart disease.

• Tribute, 1900. ³ From the Cape Argus 9 July 1900 :-

We regret to announce the death of Dr.Kitching, one of the oldest and most respected medical practitioners in South Africa. He was remarkable for the immense care and attention which he bestowed upon his patients and he kept a careful record of his cases which he took in hand. He was an ardent South African and evinced great interest in all that affected the country of his adoption.

Charles married Susan Margaret McGOWAN, daughter of John McGOWAN and Elizabeth Ann MORRIS, on Jun 10, 1859.¹ (Susan Margaret McGOWAN was born on Aug 19, 1832,² died on May 24, 1909 in Taunton House, Hof Street, Gardens Cape Town ^{2 3} and was buried on May 25, 1909 in Maitland Cemetery ³.)
