• Alt.Name. At first I had understood that Janet's surname was LEITH but later I found a statement that she was born in South Leith, Midloyhian, Scotland.
This raises a serious dought that Janet's surname was Leith and I have therefore assumed that it is presently UNKNOWN and changed the record accordingly;

A later source gave her name as Janet Melvin daughter of David Melvin b.1735 and Jean Ballentine b 1735 and this has been now accepted and entered.

Janet married Harry MOOLMAN.

Janet next married Thomas MELVILL, son of Thomas MELVILL and Margaret REID, on Nov 21, 1780 in St George in the East.¹ (Thomas MELVILL was born on Oct 10, 1758 in North Leith, Scotland, UK ¹, christened on Oct 19, 1758 and died on Mar 15, 1814 in Cape Town, South Africa ^{1 3}.)
