• Alt Birth. ² Catherine, according to her birth certificate, was born on 27 January 1901 at 7:55 am at 24 Inverkip street, Greenock, and this was signed by her mother Elizabeth McKenzie (nee McMorran)

• Occupation. ² According to the birth certificate for Arthur Mckenzie (later adopted as Rose) his mother, Catherine stated that she was the daughter of a Farmer, and the domocile stated was Upper Whitebog, Farm Fortrose. This is at variance with the information given by her mother Elizabeth on Catherine's birth certificate that he was a journeyman.

• Occupation. ² When Catherine married in 1921, her father had died and her mother ran a boarding house at 16 Inverkip St. West Greenock, to provide for her family and probably did washing and domestic work as life in Scotland was very hard. It is surmised (not proven) that when her father died earlier, she may have been working as a domestic servant at Upper Whitebogs Farm, Fortrose, Cromarty.
