(1834-1901) |
Munro, Catherine 3 4
"Cathrine" on IGI records.
• Alt Birth. 4 In answer to my question as to which Catherine was the daughter of Donald Munro and Mary Ann Munro, Katie de Haan, who researched these families in detail, gives the following as her considered opinion, which I accept unless further evidence finds to the contrary, if ever:- • Death. 4 Death Notice No.702 for 1901, West District, Greenock, County Renfrew • Baptism. 4 Extract No. 169543 from an Old Parochial Register of the Parish of Kilmuir Easter, County of Ross & Cromarty reads as follows:- Munro & Munro, 3 March 1834 Donald Munro, Mason, Barbarasville, had by his wife Ann Munro, a child born 3 February and baptised this day named Catherine. Witnesses (Not cear) McKay? and Cameron? Catherine married Duncan McKenzie, son of Charles McKenzie and Christina Munro, on Feb 6, 1855 in 3 Brighton Place, Glasgow, Scotland.1 2 (Duncan McKenzie was born on Mar 25, 1833 in Duirinish, Isle Of Skye, Inverness, Scotland 3.)
• Marriage. 2 Certificate 218 in the 1855 Register of the District Blythshire, Burrough of Glasgow, where the date of marriage was 13 Jun 1855. (See subsequent information of a different date.) • Marriage. 2 On the birth certificate of their son Archibald, No.126 Page 42 on the Register of West Greenock, Renfrew, their marriage date is given as 6 Feb 1855 and is probably the more correct. This date is also confirmed on his actual birth certificate No. 120 of the West Parish of Greenock, County Renfrew. |
