De Vries, Boudewyn Homberg
• Emigration. From Amsterdam • Occupation. He was a shopkeeper (Winkelier) probably in Worcester Cape Province, South Africa • Historical. Boudewyn purchased the Alexander street home in Stellenbosch from his widdowed mother-in-law in January 1815 but was obliged to move to Worcester in about 1820 when the house was sold that year. Boudewyn married Maria Johanna Davel, daughter of Rudolphus Davel and Sophia Margaretha Pas, on Dec 6, 1812 in Stellenbosch South Africa. (Maria Johanna Davel was born in Stellbosch South Africa, christened on Dec 1, 1793 and died on Nov 8, 1857 in Worcester South Africa.) |
